2026 Rasuwa & Nuwakot Flood Emergency: Stand With Us on the Frontlines

When catastrophic flooding struck Rasuwa and Nuwakot in 2026, entire communities were displaced in a matter of hours. Families lost their homes, their livelihoods, and their sense of security. In these critical moments, people need more than emergency supplies—they need a dedicated team to stand beside them.

Operating since 2011, BLSO Nepal’s local volunteer network mobilized immediately. We are currently on the ground in the hardest-hit areas of Rasuwa and Nuwakot, reaching vulnerable, isolated families with direct, practical support during the most painful days of this crisis.

Our commitment does not end when the floodwaters recede. We are dedicated to staying with these communities through their entire journey toward recovery, rebuilding, and renewed hope.

Urgent Crisis Response: What We Are Doing Right Now

Our emergency response is actively targeting the immediate survival needs of families displaced by the floods in Rasuwa and Nuwakot:

•  Emergency Food Distributions: Providing warm meals and dry rations to families who have lost their kitchens and food stores.
•  Clean Drinking Water: Preventing waterborne diseases by distributing safe drinking water and purification supplies.
•  Temporary Shelter & Protection: Delivering tarpaulins, blankets, and dry sleeping materials for families whose homes were washed away.
• Essential Clothing: Supplying warm clothing and basic household items to those who fled with nothing.
•  Health & Wellbeing Support: Connecting vulnerable individuals, especially the elderly and injured, with basic health support.

The floods have washed away classrooms and books. As communities stabilize, BLSO Nepal is actively planning future initiatives to restore education in these rural districts, including campaigns for school bags and a laptop-based education program to help modernize affected schools.
