In the beautiful countryside of Nepal, countless young students face a heartbreaking challenge as they finish secondary school. They dream of brighter futures—of attending college or university—but for many, these dreams feel impossibly out of reach.
Children from poor families in remote villages are eager to continue their education, yet their parents often cannot afford the costs associated with higher education. This financial burden forces many talented high school graduates to abandon their ambitions, leaving them without the opportunity for further studies.
We have received heartfelt requests from the parents in these communities, pleading for assistance in securing scholarships and professional training courses for their children. These young individuals are yearning for a chance to pursue higher education and gain the skills needed for professional jobs, but opportunities are scarce.
As a result, Nepal’s literacy rates remain low, and the number of well-educated citizens is not improving. Many unqualified young men and women are compelled to seek employment abroad, often in hazardous conditions, particularly in the Gulf countries. This choice comes with significant risks, and tragically, we have seen many lives lost due to these dangerous situations.
We urgently need your help to change this narrative. Sponsor a Child’s Education in Nepal
Through the Better Life Social Organization’s Child Sponsorship Program, you can help children from rural areas in Nepal access education. Many children, especially orphans and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, miss out on schooling due to severe poverty. By sponsoring a child, you provide much more than just financial support—you transform a child’s life.
Sponsorship enables children to attend school, creating a brighter future for them and their communities. Girls, in particular, face unique challenges, often being denied education due to cultural biases. With your support, you can promote equality and opportunity for every child.
When you sponsor, you’ll receive regular updates about the child’s progress and the impact of your generosity.
Child Sponsorship Costs
- A) For Rural Children: $25 per month. This covers school supplies, uniforms, and clothing—things that many families in rural areas cannot afford.
- B) For Children in City Schools: $360 per year. This includes full education costs, like admission fees, exam fees, monthly tuition, and school uniforms.
- C) For College Students: $1,200 per year. This covers full college expenses, including admission fees, exam fees, monthly tuition, school uniforms, room rental, and food.
In rural areas, many families cannot afford college for their children, even if they finish high school.
Why Sponsor a Child’s Education?
Nepal is one of the world’s poorest countries, with about 30% of the population living below the poverty line. Many families live on less than $2 per day, making it difficult for children to get an education. Without schooling, these children often remain in poverty, with few opportunities for a better future.
By sponsoring a child’s education through the Better Life Social Organization, you give them the chance to stay in school and reach their potential. Some children are already supported by our dedicated volunteers from France and by Mr. Fumitaka Katsuta from Japan, who sponsors 210 children.
We focus on children from the poorest families, especially those who are orphans, abandoned, or girls. Many families are asking us for help, and your support can make a life-changing difference.
What Will Sponsors Receive?
As a sponsor, you’ll stay updated on your sponsored child’s progress and their community. We make it easy for you to connect with your sponsored child. Here’s what you will receive:
